We at YTDS are committed to empowering females and fostering secure spaces through our #HitWhereItHurts movement. Their physicality and sensibilities are under attack from a myriad of challenges in their everyday life in hazardous living environments such as harassments as well as violence among other forms of discriminations. Fear and insecurity can be found everywhere including houses, places of employment even the streets. Once we understand where the struggles come from, then we will start dealing with them from the grassroots which will help in making the world a better place filled with safety, inclusiveness as well as integration if need be.
Ladies under uncertain security conditions usually go through loads of emotional stress. This emotional stress reaches dangerous levels due to endless fear and worry over their mental health and the general life quality. Therefore they usually have to plan every move they make in order to remain safe which may involve avoiding places believed to be unsafe or being very keen about whatever is happening around them thus predisposing them to anxiety conditions. YTDS is committed to the provision of tools and support that can enable women to overcome these anxieties. Empowerment training aimed at boosting the self-worth and courage of women is available through our self defense programs at all times. Among other things these events create a forum where women can discuss their issues and understand ways of responding to potential threats, hence taking back what remains of their once lost sense of control as well as their own lives from an intruding mind which seeks nothing but their doom.
In every corner of India, females grapple with serious menaces of molestation and terror on the streets. The occurrence of undeterred harassment, yelling insults, following and even threats to security on women is a violation of their freedom of movement in open places. These very untamed risks can happen at any time and at any place. YTDS has realized the seriousness with which street harassment needs to be addressed and is therefore standing with women who go through it on a constant basis. We provide them with defense mechanisms against violence committed against them on these streets along with methods of prevention so as to enable them to manage any occurrence that might happen without being harmed by the perpetrators in any way. Moreover, we support strict rules as well as implementation mechanisms aimed at safeguarding the dignity of females whenever they are out in the open.
Women tend to come up with several methods of ensuring safety that can help in difficult times like going in groups while travelling among other ways. Consider this: they avoid some places which are not safe for them and carry self-defense tools at times. Although these methods may keep them safe to a certain extent, it is evident that the dangers they encounter are too many. In addition to the above principles, YTDS self-defense instruction systems offer a full range of skills and principles for self-defense. The programme entails physical defence strategies, situational awareness as well as mental readiness which help women to ensure both their safety and independence.Besides this, this helps females cope with fear, build strong social connections, and overcome psychological barriers.
Harassment is one of the main reasons that women feel unsafe in their societies today. Fear of being harassed prevents a lot of them from going out at night or applying for jobs that will keep them late at work hence they do not grow personally nor professionally. The objective of the #HitWhereItHurts initiative is to enable women to roam around without any worries, as well as engage in activities that they enjoy in public places.Paying attention to the little efforts in keeping safe, such as causing some injury to those who try to hurt us, is very essential in instilling the feeling of self-sufficiency in women, which is necessary for them to acquire quality education, get employment and enjoy themselves without any fears. This promotion will break the gender stereotypes and boost ladies’ personal growth.
Unsafe environments present difficult challenges for women from marginalized communities. This becomes clear when we consider the fact that those women who suffer from disabilities find it hard to get away from unsafe places whereas those with low economic status cannot afford risk free means of movement. Ensuring that both our self-defense support and training are provided to every woman is our priority. We acknowledge that women with diverse identities face particular challenges they address through personalized resources and programs meant to create confidence and inner strength among them, thereby promoting equality.
Women endure unsafe environments because of systems and institutions. Unsafe environments for women are perpetuated or addressed by institutions and systems. Presence of unsafe environments for women is a result of systemic problems like non-existent judicial protection mechanisms, weak enforcement of existing laws and cultural beliefs promoting gender based violence. YTDS advocate for structural reforms amid individual strengthening. We are fighting for tougher legislation, enhanced enforcement efforts, and a stronger safety net to deal with some types of Gender Based Violence (GBV) cases. Our work encompasses media-supported prevention drives; policy suggestions advanced at different levels; networking among stakeholders towards a holistic approach for addressing these problems.
Fighting against bad environments necessitates community backing and togetherness. This is a network of ladies who help one another in similar events, understanding and assets. In the endeavor of defending oneself and taking action on behalf of others, our connection with people becomes stronger, making it possible for individuals to be empowered while feeling safe at the same time. Our programs not only teach self-defense techniques to women, they also allow them to form relationships with each other where they can offer each other moral support as well as motivation. Our tactic that involves partnering with indigenous groupings, schools plus companies in the region in order to provide a theme that has many women is one that we take pride in , even as we try to expand our horizons.
The #HitWhereItHurts campaign is not simply about self-defense training; it initiates other measures too. That is, among its constituents are strong advocacy components targeting systemic alterations towards handling the underlying bases regarding violence based on gender as well as abuse. Our goal is to implement numerous strategies (different strategies) simultaneously as we work towards safer spaces for women in future generations. What we advocate for is legal reform, public awareness and community engagement. As such, we call for stronger laws and improved enforcement, sensitize people on gender based violence and equality among other things. Furthermore men as well as boys are also encouraged to join hands with us so as to stop issues related to gender violence hence creating a sense of shared responsibility for transformation
We at YTDS are committed to empowering women and making the world safer through the #HitWhereItHurts campaign. With an understanding of women’s daily struggles, giving them practical skills and aid, as well as fighting for systemic change; we envision a world where no woman lives in terror. Join our worthy struggle; help us #HitWhereItHurts. Let us team up to make a society where women can actually carry out their wishes without others dictating to them or feeling fear. We can change Indian women’s lives forever by making our stand clear about what we believe concerning one another’s plight in this regard.
